GENERAL INFO
HISTORY

The Saskatoon 567 Club has been around for more than 40 years under different club names. From it’s humble beginnings in late 1973, when a group of car enthusiasts decided to start the original Fifty 5-6-7 Chevy Club. At the time, most of the rod runs were restricted to pre’49 vehicles and there were no events that people with 5-6-7 vehicles could attend. They decided to start a newsletter and put on events for 5-6-7 owners. The first editor was Wayne Gilbert. Members from those early days included Ian and Annie McDonald, Ted Robb, Bruce Williams, Kelvin and Lynne Polonich, Wayne Ploss, Dave Robinson, Dave and Sheila Snell, all who were all instrumental in starting the club. The members began attending car shows in other provinces where much interest was shown and soon there were clubs in Alberta, B.C. and Manitoba. Members from the four Western Provinces then got together for national meets.

Over the years, there were many different members that contributed to the Club. Dave Farion’s Tech Tips was a popular and informative part of the news letter and helped many members with their resto’s. The news letter is not being published, but members share tips and stories at meetings and shows. Our local chapter of the 5-6-7 Club has had many members in the Saskatoon club with a wide variety of 5-6-7 Chevy cars and trucks, Pontiacs and GMC trucks. With 40 members actively attending all the different car shows and swap meets, we still look forward to past members dusting off their classic 5-6-7’s and swapping stories and renewing friendships at one of the many car shows we attend.

The Saskatoon 5-6-7 Club Inc is a registered non profit entity with the club name officially belonging to the membership. We invite new members with 5-6-7 Chevys, Pontiacs, GMC and Chevy trucks, Corvettes, rolling or under restoration, to join our club. Happy Motoring and enjoy restoring all those great Tri-5 Chevys.
